Following instructions from the AER, this applicant addressed seismic activity caused by hydraulic fracturing horizontal wells in his application. He conducted a seismic review and drew conclusions about the potential for fracture induced seismic events affecting towns and residents.
This follows recent concerns expressed by the AER over seismic events that may be caused by hydraulic fracturing horizontal wells. Their green-light, yellow-light, red-light policy has industry more vigilant about potential seismic events from operations.
